Week 7 Sonogram

At 7 weeks Elizabeth had some spotting that sent us rushing to the hospital. Sitting in the waiting room at the radiologist's office was a scary experience. As it turned out, Baby O (the first book we read on pregnancy described the fetus as being the size of a lower case 'o', somehow the name stuck) was doing fine. It was the most amazing thing to watch the tiny heart pumping fluid and listen to its rapid heart beat at 128 bpm. In the picture here, the size of the fetus is measured between the two crosshairs in the image to be less then 1 cm in length.
